Ellen Grimes, Associate Professor of Architecture

Ellen Grimes is Associate Professor of architecture at the School of the Art Institute, Chicago and editor-at-large at Flat Out.

She has worked with Bruce Mau Design, Garofalo Architects, DLK, and Greg Lynn Form, and is a principal in FlohrGrimes.

Her writing and editorial work has appeared in Bowling, Flat Out, Log, the Journal of Architectural Education, and Content. She was awarded the Van Allen Institute’s New York Prize for Public Ecologies and holds an M.Arch from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and an MBA and BA from the University of Chicago.

At Powering the change, Ellen will be presenting her paper 'Ecological models for heritage preservation and conservation: the Case of the Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie'.

Ellen Grimes will be speaking in the session Circular economy in our built environment at the academic symposium.

Spyros Kouvelis was first elected Member of the Greek Parliament in 2007 as Shadow Minister of Environment, Energy, and Planning. Re-elected in 2009, he served as Vice Minister for Foreign Economic, Cultural, and Environmental Affairs from 2009 to 2011. His duties included economic and energy diplomacy, development co-operation and humanitarian assistance, and environmental and cultural diplomacy.
